Irritable Bowel Syndrome Ayurveda Treatment

In Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of healing, wrong and irregular food habits, nervous imbalance, stressed life style, low immunity, non adherence to the natural rhythms of body and negative emotions like jealousy, anger, hatred leads to deranged agni which is the main cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Jathara agni (digestive fire) found in the small intestine helps in breaking down the food in the smaller molecules to be digested easily.
If it is weakened due to above reasons, it leads to indigestion or malabsorption or ama(toxins) and if it is strong a burning sensation can be felt.Digestion is ruled by Jathara Agni by the support vata, pitta and kapha in its own unique manner.
Any imbalance in it affects the role of that particular dosha in the digestive process and in the end affects the function of the other doshas in digestion and manifestation of IBS.Aggravation of doshas leads to deranged digestive fires i.e, Vata dosha leads to Vishama Agni, Pitta aggravation leads to Tikshna Agni and aggravated Kapha leads to Manda Agni.
IBS which is categorised under Grahani, occurs due to one or more of dosha imbalance and it weakens the duodenum. According to Ayurveda, duodenum, helps in digestion and also hold it until it is properly digested and then it allows it to be passed through colon where it is excreted. Its inefficient functioning leads to either releasing its content earlier or retain the content for a longer period. So an alternating loose bowel and constipation occurs which is the main symptom IBS.
Ayurveda aims at eliminating the toxins and restoration of proper digestion and it helps in bringing back the basic strength and immunity of the body thereby treating IBS in a natural way.

How to Treat and Manage Constipation

Constipation is extremely harmful to your body because it causes a build up of toxins that can result in all sorts of ill health as a result. You can consider yourself constipated if you have less than three bowel movements a week, strain to defecate, or your stools are lumpy and hard. There are two known types of constipation known as acute or chronic. Acute constipation is normally sudden and caused by a particular reaction to a certain food, emotional upset or from an injury or medical treatment. In normal cases natural bowel movement will return after a few days. There are certain natural remedies  and treatments that can help in this case. Chronic constipation should be investigated by a doctor to find the causes because it can be a symptom of something more serious.

The Causes of Constipation

There are quite a few different causes of constipation from natural digestion. The human digestive process extracts the nutrients from foods for us to stay alive from the bowel. Your colon is a wonderful organ that facilitates this process with muscles along its entire length moving the foods in wave like motions called peristalsis, while nutrients are being absorbed for normal body functions. Bacteria break down the foods to release these nutrients into your blood stream and what is not required is expelled as waste matter. Incorrect eating habits like a fast food diet or eating unhealthy processed foods do not provide sufficient fiber that is needed for the movement of fecal matter out of the bowel and this can become compacted with constipation as a result. Constipation occurs when the normal peristalsis as mentioned above cannot work properly and waste material cannot be moved through the intestine efficiently.

Treatment of constipation.

Seeking natural relief from constipation rather than using laxatives is far more sensible though laxatives can be beneficial. Contrary to many beliefs it has been proven that your body will not become accustomed to laxatives and that you will not have bowel movements after stopping their use. Most factors that result in constipation are diet related and also due to lifestyle and even climate in some cases. Using natural remedies to cleanse your colon and revitalize bacteria can be very effective treatments for constipation and herbal laxatives for extreme cases are beneficial if taken sensibly. This is a way of restarting your body’s natural rhythm because toxins that may have been present in the colon are removed when your colon is cleansed.

Natural Herbal  treatments for constipation are the most effective.

Using natural treatments to boost your digestive system from Mother Nature are recommended more than others to get your bowel back into its natural optimum condition. When you feel bloated and unable to relax then you are probably constipated and gentle assistance through herbal treatments can certainly assist your body. It does not mean you are constipated if you do not have a bowel movement every day either. Make sure to visit a doctor if laxatives or colon cleansing treatments have not helped and you are experiencing pain in the bowel area.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome – Relief Is At Hand

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a strange problem. Strange because although it is defined as what it is by the Medical Profession, they define it as a non-disease. So what exactly is a non-disease? A non-disease is a physical problem that is common enough to warrant a label, but upon investigation shows no evidence of any physical abnormality. In other words, the gut of someone with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) looks just the same as the gut of someone with a normal healthy digestive tract. So how do doctors identify IBS as the problem? What they do is look at all of the symptoms, and if the symptoms do not apply to any other disease in their list of diseases – then it is diagnosed as IBS.To me this seems a little unscientific to say the least. Still at least it gives the sufferer a diagnosis and a label. And, after all, that is what most people want from their doctor.Okay, so there is a diagnosis. Surely that is the precursor to a cure or at least to some medication that will remove the symptoms? You would think!Unfortunately there is no cure for IBS. Nor are there any drugs that effectively medicate the problem. One of the problems that the medical world has with IBS is its inconsistency. Some people suffer a great deal of pain, others less so. Some have diarrhoea, some have constipation – my most recent client suffers from both. Some can go out, some end up virtually housebound because of the necessity to always be within running distance of a toilet.IBS is a horribly, debilitating, quality-of-life destroying problem that affects over 10% of the western world. IBS is a very common problem.A lot of people find IBS seems to be connected with their diet and that cutting down on certain foods brings alleviation of symptoms. Others would practically have to eat nothing and would still be suffering. But since it is foods like wheat or dairy that are most problematic, and since foods like wheat or dairy are in almost every manufactured food and, therefore, difficult to eliminate – sufferers frequently continue to eat and put up with the suffering. It seems easier to have some pleasure in life, that is food, and swallow laxatives or diarrhoea treatments to deal with the resultant problems. One of the clear associations with IBS that has emerged is that of stress. Stress aggravates the bowel. A lot of work has been done that shows, even if nothing else is attended to, that stress reduction alleviates IBS symptoms and provides relief. And by far the best techniques for stress reduction are hypnosis and meditation. Hypnosis is easy because you just have to listen. Meditation is more difficult, takes some determination to learn, and requires regular (daily) practice. Hypnosis is easier because all you have to do is listen to a CD – or to a hypnotherapist in a one-to-one session. However, to just use hypnosis for stress-reduction would be a waste of a very powerful healing resource. Hypnosis can impact and relieve symptoms. Hypnosis has been known to cure (though significant relief from symptoms is a more likely outcome of treatment). To find out more about how hypnosis can quickly bring about relief from IBS symptoms – visit my website for more information.

Causes Of Irritable Bowel Syndrome And What You Need To Know

Researchers have yet to find a specific cause for irritable bowel syndrome or IBS. It is known as a functional disorder, which means that the way the bowel words is affected. However, there are yet to be found any physical abnormalities that can explain the symptoms.
One theory that has been proposed is that people who have IBS have a large intestine, or colon, that is quite sensitive and reactive to both stress and certain foods. It is thought that the immune system may also be involved.
Symptoms of IBS seem to be caused by contractions of the muscle in the bowel wall some researchers think. These contractions are thought to be stronger and more frequent in people that have IBS. The contractions seem to worsen after eating certain foods and in stressful situations. If a person is intolerant to certain foods such as dairy products, tea and coffee, it may trigger symptoms.
IBS may often develop after a bout of gastroenteritis which is an inflammation not only of the stomach but also of the bowel linings. This often causes diarrhea and sickness. An infection with a bacteria or virus may be the culprit here as well as food poisoning.
These are some other causes of IBS which you may want to think about:
Normal movement, or motility, may be absent in the colon of someone who has IBS. The motility can be spasmodic, also called a spastic colon or it can even temporarily stop working. Spasms are strong and sudden muscle contractions that may come and go periodically.
The lining of the colon which is also known as the epithelium is affected by both the immune and nervous systems. It regulates the flow of fluids both in and out of the large intestine or colon. In a person who has IBS, the epithelium seems to work properly.
However, when the contents inside of the large intestine move too quickly, the colon is not able to absorb the fluids. This results in watery stools. In other people, the movement inside of the colon is much too slow.
This causes any extra fluid to be absorbed, and thus the person suffers from constipation.
With a person who is suffering from IBS, their colon may respond very strongly to certain foods or to stress that would normally not bother other people.
Recent research has found that serotonin and normal gastrointestinal functioning are linked together. Serotonin is a chemical, or neurotransmitter, that delivers messages from one body part to another. Approximately 95% of the serotonin in a person’s body is found in the GI tract, and the other 5% is located in the brain. Cells which line the inside of the intestines work as transporters and work at carrying the serotonin out of the gastrointestinal tract. People who suffer with IBS do not have as much receptor activity as normal people, and this causes a build-up of serotonin in the GI tract. As a result, people with IBS suffer from problems with bowel movement, sensation and motility since they have more sensitive pain receptors located in their GI tract.
Researchers also have reported that IBS may be linked to a bacterial infection in the GI tract. Studies have been documented that people who have had a bout of gastroenteritis may sometimes develop IBS.
These are the main causes of irritable bowel syndrome. If you think that you may be suffering from this disease, it would be wise to consult your physician.

People to Handle Domestic Activities

For working housewife it is a dream to have someone who can act as aide à domicile. This person could handle domestic activity like washing, cooking, home cleaning and so forth. It is also a plus point if this people also could do garde d’enfants so the working housewife does not have to worry about the house and the thing related. For safety it is also great if this people could do voice recognition as well.
