Hemroids

Amit Kothiyal asked:

Hemroids is a disease that can happen in any age group. It appears as small lumps that occur in the lower part of the rectum as a result of swelling of the veins within the rectum. Some lumps can build up just outside the “mouth” of the anus and can easily be seen in open area. Hemroids can normally happen inside the anus or rectum and will only extend to the exterior at a later stage of the disease.

Causes of Hemroids

Hemroids generally happen because dissimilar arteries have not enough strength in their walls to support much blood pressure. For this reason, veins near the surface, without additional support of muscles and other deep structures, often become distended. Veins around the rectum do not have much support from any other tissue, so they distend easily.

Symptoms of Hemroids

Hemroids can be identified with some common symptoms like:

Overweight

Dieting

Fiber lacking

Insufficient water and fluids in the body

Hard labor

Heavy loads

Lack of physical exercise

Body movement

Prolonged sitting

Management of Hemroids

Management of hemroids is the correction of constipation so that the stools can pass regularly and with the least possible irritation. Some peoples have lot of reflection about the practicality and need for hemroids surgery, but in some instances an operation is necessary.

For some the cost of hemroids surgery is a big blockade, and for others the awkwardness of even admitting that they have hemroids will indicate that one day they may require Hemroids surgery in any event. There are some effective creams available today that not only relieve and wear away annoyance, but also help to repair broken and crack anal skin/membranes.

Prevention of Hemroids

Hemroids can be prevented by keeping stools soft so they pass easily, thus reducing pressure, straining and to empty bowels as soon as possible after the urge occurs. You can decrease constipation and straining through exercising, walking and increase in content of diets thus producing soft stools that are easier to pass out.

Hemroids Cure

It is possible to cure Hemroids at home but in serious cases it is thoroughly recommended that you seek medical guidance. Importantly, you must remember that hemroids is a cure to a point at issue.

Colon Hydrotherapy and Colon Cancer

Paul Fitzgerald asked:

Cancer is one of the most dreadful diseases human kind has ever encountered. Having cancer can be a point of no return. Some have actually avoided an almost sudden and devastating death caused by cancer, only by prolonging their life for a few more years through extensive, if not intensive therapies and extra healthy, if not monitored lifestyle and diet.

Cancer is caused by the abnormal growth of cells which can occur in the certain or several areas of the human body. One cannot exactly forebode the onset of cancer, not unless his family has a history of cancer patients. However, it is a terrifying disease that can sneak up on anyone when they least expect it, and one that is not easily break free. One notorious cancer illness that is common in both men and women is colon cancer. It is the growth of malignant tumors in the large intestine, which consists the colon and the rectum. There are several factors that could cause this deadly disease including high fat diet, a family history of colon cancer, the presence of benign tumors in the large intestine, and recurring inflammatory bowel diseases.

It is believed that the improper or excessive intake of fat can ultimately lead to colon cancer due to the formation of carcinogens. Also, colon polyps can develop when chromosome damaged takes place in cells constituting the inner lining of the colon. These polyps can be due to inherited genetics or can simply be encountered by any one person. If these polyps can be diagnosed as benign, it is commonly advised to have these tumors removed for they can ultimately lead to cancer over time. And lastly, another known cause for colon cancer is ulcerative colitis.

It is a recurring inflammation of the large intestine that could go on for years. The causes for this disease are not quite identified yet, however, it has been realized that such disorder can also lead to colon cancer if not properly treated due to the eventual onset cancer tumors.

Treatments for colon cancer will include surgery to remove the tumors and chemotherapy to delay tumor recurrence, in case the cancer has metastasized to other areas of the patients body. But the truth of the matter is, cancer is seldom totally removed since the spread of cancer cells is actually difficult to contain.

Moreover, the rate at which cancer cells spread majorly depends on the patients emotional and physical disposition, as well as the capacity of his immune system to fight off or repress the cancer cells. Of course this refers to having a healthy lifestyle, habit, and environment. But then, in the first place, if one lives with proper precaution and living a healthy lifestyle, habit, in a healthy environment, one have lower risks of getting cancer.

Prevention is the key one might say, and that one is definitely correct. Taking good care of your body is not for the sake of vanity but for longevity. Who would not want to enjoy a longer, happy life, right? And it all starts within ones self, generally speaking.

One good practice of healthy living is colon cleansing. Colon hydrotherapy, or enema has been practiced since the 17th century to rid people of their ailments such as constipation, backaches, skin problems, diarrhea, depression, headaches, insomnia to name only a few. In fact, by the 19th century, it as become a favored medical treatment of the Western World in ridding themselves of bodily toxins paving way to a more lighter temperament for most.

But for the most part colon hydrotherapy helps keep the colon clean. And additionally, the lessening of toxins in a persons colon actually aids in boosting the immune system. This procedure may not a be way of getting rid of colon cancer nor can it solely prevent the occurrence of colon cancer, but this is definitely one of the healthy treatments, alongside a healthy diet worthy to be put on your list while you make a paradigm of healthy habits from which you can gain longterm benefits.

Constipation and Depression

The Colon Cleansing & Constipation Resource Center asked:

Constipation and depression have a history of coinciding with each other. Is it coincidence or is there an underlying reason? Constipation can be a painful and troublesome condition, but does it cause clinical depression? And on the other hand, can depression actually cause constipation? I hope to help lay these questions to rest for any one suffering from these two conditions.

We should first look at what the diagnosis for constipation consists of. Constipation is when the individual has two or fewer bowel movements within a week. If three days pass with no bowel movement, it could pose a serious health risk. The stool will continue to harden the longer it’s in the body, making it even more difficult to expel. Patients are also considered constipated if they experience hard stools, straining or incomplete evacuations 25% of the time they do have bowel movements.

Depression can be the result of numerous factors. Lifestyle changes, eating habits, loss of a loved one and health issues can play a huge role in depression cases. Depression can also be rather difficult to diagnose in many cases. Understanding the signs and symptoms of both of these conditions will help you to have a better understanding of what to look for, how to deal with them and how to prevent them.

How to tell if you may be Depressed

The two most obvious symptoms of depression include feelings of sadness or hopelessness and a general loss of interest in daily activities that usually bring pleasure. Depression can be difficult to diagnose properly because it truly is a condition of extremes. It can cause weight gain or weight loss. It can cause insomnia or the sufferer may want to sleep all day. It can cause pain to move while at the same time causing restlessness. And yes, it can cause constipation or diarrhea.

Depression affects the body’s entire system, not just the emotional aspect. It causes the digestive system to function improperly. Headaches and bodily pain are commonplace. In a state of depression, the brain actually isn’t functioning the way it’s supposed to. It’s no wonder that depressed individuals feel as though the world is falling down around them. In a sense, it really is.

In the brain, there are two chemicals that affect your mood. Serotonin and norepinephrine. These two chemicals work as transmitters, sending signals from the brain to the nerves in the body. When there is a deficiency in these chemicals, the signals don’t get sent and it throws everything off. It’s interesting to note, that in most cases, the body can actually fix the problem itself. Unfortunately, it can take 1 to 3 years for that to happen and deeply depressed sufferers can’t wait that long.

To replace the depleted serotonin and norepinephrine levels, patients are usually prescribed Antidepressants. One of the main side effects of Antidepressants is constipation.

Why constipation makes us feel depressed

While constipation in and of itself does not cause clinical depression, it can cause someone to feel depressed. The reason is again because of the chemicals in the brain. Constipation prohibits food nutrients from being absorbed by the body. These nutrients are needed for the brain to produce the right amount of serotonin and norepinephrine. When constipated for a long period, the lining of the small intestine can actually build up a layer of toxins that fully prevent any nutrients from being absorbed. Toxins that are normally expelled by the body through bowel movements now have nowhere to go but to be re-absorbed by the body, making matters even worse.

Women are prime targets for both conditions, especially while pregnant. The body’s hormones are going so berserk that depression is rarely not seen during or after pregnancy. Another stage in a woman’s life that brings on depression is menopause. It’s been shown that estrogen provokes dramatic changes in the brain’s activity.

What can be done to prevent constipation and depression?

When you’re not feeling good, or feeling depressed about something, the most common thing people tend to do is head for some comfort food. It’s usually heavy and unhealthy but totally delicious, right? Unfortunately, those foods, when eaten in large quantities, wreck havoc on an already delicate gastrointestinal situation. It makes it almost inevitable that when you’re depressed, you’ll also end up constipated. It’s a vicious circle that many get stuck in.

The chances of becoming constipated and/or depressed can be dramatically lowered by eating a healthy diet and following a regular exercise routine. Avoiding alcohol and drugs can save the body from many traumas, both mental and physical. Try to follow a regular sleep pattern. Most importantly, if you begin to feel depressed, or have thoughts of suicide, you need to seek help as soon as possible.

Parkinson’S Disease (Vorum Tremens)

Maria Stitz asked:

Parkinson’s disease (vorum tremens) is the chronic progressing disease of a brain for the first time was described in 1817 by J. Parkinson. Patients who has Parkinson’s disease often suffer from involuntary trembling finitenesses (tremor), muscular rigidity, infringements of coordination and speech, and also experience difficulties with movement. These symptoms usually occurs after 60 years though cases of Parkinson’s disease are known in the age of 50 years are more younger.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressing disease, i.e. its symptoms and appearance eventually become aggravated and worsen. However, in spite of the fact that finally Parkinson’s disease leads to physical inability and loss of capacity, disease progresses slowly, and even after statement of the diagnosis the majority of patients as early as long years can conduct a high-grade life.

Moreover, unlike other serious neurological diseases, Parkinson’s disease gives in to treatment. Often resort to medicamentous treatment, or implant in a brain the special device stimulating brain activity. In extreme cases resort to surgical intervention – operations on a brain a method stereotaxis which essence consists in destruction of a small zone in subcrustal structures of a brain. Searches of effective means of treatment of Parkinson’s disease now proceed.

Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease

The first symptoms of Parkinson’s disease is difficult to notice, as, for example, an immovability of hands at walking, an easy tremor in fingers of one hand or insignificant infringements of speech. Patients feel a devastation, a breakdown, depressions are subject or suffer from a sleeplessness. Besides habitual employment (a shower, shaving, cooking, etc.) require major efforts and borrow more time.

Other symptoms of Parkinson’s disease

* Tremor. The tremor often begins with easy trembling hands or even separate fingers. Sometimes the tremor of hands is accompanied by the non-uniform movement of the big and average fingers reminding overrolling of invisible pills (so-called “a syndrome of driving of pills”). Sometimes there is also a tremor of the bottom finitenesses. These symptoms can be more expressed on one party of a body or be shown symmetrically and to be combined with other symptoms of defeat of nervous system. the Tremor is especially shown by infringements of coordination, sensitivity, when the patient is in a condition of stress. Though the tremor of finitenesses causes significant inconveniences, it does not lead to loss of capacity and disappears only when the patient sleeps. Many patients with Parkinson’s disease suffer only from an insignificant tremor.

* Slowness of movement (bradykinesia). In due course Parkinson’s disease “acquires” new symptoms, among which slowness and awkwardness of movements, as well as infringement of coordination. Rigidity of muscles of legs can complicate movement, gait is broken. It especially annoyingly as complicates performance of the elementary actions.

* Rigidity of muscles. Often there is a rigidity of muscles of neck and finitenesses. In some cases rigidity even holds down movements and hurts.

* Loss of balance. Parkinson’s disease, especially in a heavy condition, it is often accompanied by inability to keep balance. For many years this problem remains insignificant and does not cause discomfort.

* Loss of automatism of movements. Blinking, occurrence of a smile and flourish hands at walking – automatic actions of a normal organism which are carried out at a subconscious level and even besides our desire. At patients with Parkinson’s disease this automatism of movements often vanishes, and and sometimes and disappears absolutely. In some cases on the person of patients expression of the steadfast and intense attention, a unblinking sight is fixed. At some patients, except for a mimicry, ability to gesticulation vanishes also.

* Infringement of an articulation. Many patients also suffer from infringement of speech – it can become slightly modulated, illegible. The voice loses intonations and becomes monotonous and silent. For older people it represents a special problem, as badly hearing elderly co-habitants can simply not hear them.

* Infringement of swallowing and salivation. This symptom appears at late stages of development of illness, but, with rare exception, patients with this symptom nevertheless are capable to accept food independently.

* Dementia. The insignificant percent of patients suffers from dementia – inability to think, understand and remember. This symptom also appears at recent stages of disease. Though dementia consider as display of Alzheimer’s disease is more often, it can accompany and other serious diseases, including Parkinson’s disease. In this case delay of thought processes and inability attests to the beginning of dementia to concentrate.

Reasons of occurrence of Parkinson’s disease

For those 200 years that have passed from the moment of opening Parkinson’s disease, scientists were possible to understand some aspects and processes of this most complicated disease.

Today it is known, that many symptoms and displays of Parkinson’s disease develop owing to damage or destruction of the certain nervous terminations, located in black substance of a brain. In a normal condition these nervous cells develop dopamine. Function of dopamine consists in smooth transfer of impulses for maintenance of normal movements. At Parkinson’s disease production of dopamine decreases, normal transfer of nervous impulses is broken and there are basic symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

During ageing all people lose some part developing of dopamine neutrons. But patients with Parkinson’s disease lose more than half of the neutrons located in black substance. Though there is a degeneration and other cells of a brain, the cells developing of dopamine, are necessary for movement, therefore their loss is catastrophic. The reasons of damage or destruction of these cells till now is object of many researches. In opinion of scientists, Parkinson’s disease can develop owing to an adverse combination of genetic and external factors. The certain medicines, illnesses and toxic substances also can create a clinical picture, characteristic for Parkinson’s disease.

Acne Prescription Medicine: What You Need to Know

Matthew Hick asked:

If you find yourself suffering from acne, there are several paths you can take. Getting an over-the-counter treatment is one path; however, if your acne is severe enough, it is best to see a qualified dermatologist. This doctor can give you a prescription medication to treat your condition.

Drugs will be prescribed in topical form applied to the skin in mild to moderate cases. These are either antibiotics or retinoids. For moderate to severe cases, which are resistant to other treatment, systematic antibiotic prescriptions taken orally are prescribed. Sometimes there will be a need to combine the two therapies. If you are struggling with acne, this may be an option you will need.

Antibiotics have been the core acne treatment for years. They combat different factors contributing to acne by reducing the number of bacteria present, as well as, reducing inflammation. Topical antibiotics deal with acne by inhibiting the skin bacteria, Propionibacterim, commonly referred to as P. acne population. The treatment plan consists of a six month or less period.

The most frequently used topical antibiotic is clindamycin. This is available in a gel or lotion. There are certain conditions such as, ulcerative colitis and antibiotic induced colitis, which will prohibit a person from using this treatment. The second most commonly used topical antibiotic is erythromycin. This is available in a solution, gel or an ointment of 2% strength. Similar to clindamycin, it is well tolerated, but may cause some irritation. It is also safe for pregnant women to take. Tetracycline is a topical antibiotic, which is not commonly used since it can cause allergic reactions. It is sold as an ointment in different strengths. Metromidazole is used to treat acne that is a result of rosacea. It can be used once or twice daily, and is available as a gel at .75% strength. This is also a well-tolerated treatment.

Oral antibiotics work by reducing the P. acne population, which is what causes inflammation. The treatment usually starts with a high dosage, which is gradually reduced as the condition begins to improve. These may need to be taken weeks, months and even years to prevent reoccurrence.

Erythromycin is a common oral antibiotic. It has anti-inflammatory properties, kills bacteria and reduces redness and lesions. It should be taken with food and can cause stomach upset and nausea. This antibiotic is safe for pregnant women. Tetracycline is also widely prescribed but must be taken on an empty stomach for it to be effective. It is not safe for pregnant women or children under 9 years of age. Minocycline is a tetracycline derivative, which is useful with acne lesions that contain pus and water. There are many side effects including dizziness, nausea, and vomiting, skin pigmentation change and tooth discoloration. Doxycycline is prescribed for individuals who cannot tolerate erythromycin or tetracycline. It must be taken with food to avoid nausea and can increase skin sensitivity. Clindamycin is another useful oral antibiotic, but is usually prescribed in its topical form. It can cause serious intestinal infection.

Other topical prescription drugs are retinoids including tretinoin(Retin-A), adapalene(Differin) and Tazarotene(Tazorac). Retinoids are a derivative of vitamin A, and are effective with whitehead and blackhead cases of acne. Tretinoin is the most common retinoid. It is available as a cream, but cannot be used in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide. It is known to produce a high occurrence of skin irritation. Adapalene comes in a gel or cream at .1% strength. It, however, can be used with benzoyl peroxide treatment and is less likely to produce skin irriation. Tazarotene is the most expensive retinoid and is a gel at either .05 or .1% strength. This is probably the most skin irritating retinoid.

There are many prescription treatments available for acne conditions that are resistant to over the counter remedies. Depending on your type of acne and its extent, your doctor will prescribe either an antibiotic or a retinoid. These should be able to help you win the battle against acne.

Treatment for Diarrhea in Children

james sameul asked:

Diarrhea in children

Children can have acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) forms of diarrhea. Causes include bacteria, viruses, parasites, medications, functional disorders, and food sensitivities. Infection with the rotavirus is the most common cause of acute childhood diarrhea. Rotavirus diarrhea usually resolves in 5 to 8 days.

Medications to treat diarrhea in adults can be dangerous to children and should be given only under a doctor’s guidance.

The treatment of acute diarrhea in children:

Diarrhea may occur for varied reasons; however, most episodes of diarrhea in developing countries are infectious in origin. Three clinical forms of diarrhea (acute watery diarrhea, invasive diarrhea, and persistent diarrhea) have been identified to formulate a management plan. Acute diarrhea may be watery (where features of dehydration are prominent) or dysenteric (where stools contain blood and mucus).

Rehydration therapy is the key to management of acute watery diarrhea, whereas antimicrobial agents play a vital role in the management of acute invasive diarrhea, particularly shigellosis and amebiasis. In persistent diarrhea, nutritional therapy, including dietary manipulations, is a very important aspect in its management, in addition to rehydration therapy. Rehydration may be carried out either by the oral or intravenous route, depending upon the degree of dehydration. Oral rehydration salts (ORS) solution (World Health Organization formula) is recommended for ORT. Intravenous fluid is recommended for initial management of severe dehydration due to diarrhea, followed by ORT with ORS solution for correction of ongoing fluid losses. Antimicrobial therapy is beneficial for cholera and shigellosis. Antiparasitic agents are indicated only if amebiasis and giardiasis are present.

Children receiving tormentil root extract had a significant reduction in diarrhea, compared with those taking a placebo. The duration of diarrhea in the tormentil root and placebo groups was three days and five days, respectively. After 48 hours, diarrhea ceased completely in 40% of the children in treatment group, compared with only 5% of the children receiving the placebo. Those taking tormentil root also required less rehydration fluids and had significantly shorter stays in the hospital. No adverse reactions were observed in those receiving tormentil root.

Rest, along with fluid replacement using Pedialyte®, Ceralyte®, or Infalyte®, is often recommended. Severe diarrhea, especially in children and the elderly, may require hospitalization for urgent fluid and electrolyte replacement in order to correct dehydration.

When child is vomiting with / without diarrhea-

Give fluids to the child. Avoid colas, tea, fruit juices etc.(as they contain more sugar worsening the dehydration). Preferably give home made ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) :- In a glass of water (200 ml) add 2 tsp of sugar and a pinch of salt. Give this ORS frequently (1/2 to 1 ounce) every 15 – 20 minutes. Other fluids like coconut water, rice kanji, dal, butter milk (chaas) etc. may be given. The idea is to give small, frequent feeds to control the vomiting. Gradually increase the amount if the child tolerates the fluids.

In an infant, continue with breast-feeding as it is the best feeding.

Brachytherapy is treatment given by placing radioactive material directly in or near the target, often a tumor.

Chemotherapy is treatment with drugs (“chemicals”) to kill cancer cells.

Pulmonary therapy is the treatment of respiratory problems and so is also called respiratory therapy.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome: The Solution

Richard MacKenzie asked:

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is no fun for those folks who have to live through it. When your stomach is rocking and there is no clear end in sight, you hope that the sun doesn’t come up tomorrow. Though Irritable Bowel Syndrome is really just more of a nuisance than anything else, it has raised some interesting questions about the medical field in recent months. Lots of patients are starting to think that their doctors know absolutely nothing about Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Some patients have even reported that their doctors are prescribing high fiber diets to counter Irritable Bowel Syndrome. There couldn’t be a worse idea, as fiber irritates the bowels even more. What are folks to do when they can’t get their stomach under control? They might consider a treatment that many people never think of.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is caused by a lot of stress in a person’s life. Though there are other causes to go along with it, stress is the primary reason why people experience Irritable Bowel Syndrome. As people get stressed out, their insides end up feeling tangled. Tense muscles constrict blood flow and nothing gets done when blood flow gets restricted. That’s one reason why it is important to keep a stress free life. You want to avoid having to go through the aggravation of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

One method for treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome is something that you might not think of everyday. Hypnosis can be a good treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Hypnosis is often overlooked by people when they think about good treatments for everyday problems. This is unfortunate, too, as hypnosis can cure a whole bunch of ills. Everything from smoking to gambling to Irritable Bowel Syndrome can be helped by a good hypnotherapist. In this generation, hypnosis isn’t just a sideshow act. It’s a living, breathing solution for big time problems.

How can it help fight against Irritable Bowel Syndrome? It will help to relax the body’s functions, including the stomach area which can become tense. As the stomach becomes relaxes, blood will once again return to its normal rate of flow in the area. That brings oxygen and white blood cells that are ready to attack Irritable Bowel Syndrome with all of their worth. In my time as a practicing hypnotherapist, I have seen people make a full recovery from Irritable Bowel Syndrome after only a couple of tries with hypnosis. If you need help with this problem or others, check out hypnosis and see if it’s right for you.

Detecting Dog Bloat

Ben Anton asked:

Canine gastric dilatation, commonly referred to as bloat, is a fairly common and potentially fatal medical condition. Bloat occurs when gas accumulates in the dog’s stomach and causes it to become overstretched. Bloat can also involve a twisting of the dog’s stomach, known as volvulus, which leads to very high mortality rates. Volvulus has the potential to close off the esophagus of the dog, preventing it from belching or vomiting, as well as decreasing blood flow to the liver and spleen, often leading to blood poisoning or death by toxic shock.

Bloat can be caused by a number of things; age, breed, stress, and even the shape of the dog’s chest can be bloat-inducing factors. Gastrointestinal disease and inflammatory bowel disease can also increase your dog’s chances of developing bloat. The most common cause of bloat, however, is what and how your dog is eating. It is important to take preventative measures to ensure your dog doesn’t develop canine gastric dilatation. Regular veterinarian check-ups are imperative; while a trained veterinarian can usually treat the situation with surgery, a sudden bad case of bloat can become fatal in a matter of minutes.

Dog bloat isn’t the easiest canine ailment to detect. According to a study conducted by the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University, the breeds most likely to develop bloat are Rottweilers, St. Bernards, Newfoundlands, and Collies. Great Danes, Akitas and Bloodhounds are least likely to develop bloat. Unlike external problems with visible symptoms, internal medical complications may not become noticeable until your dog has developed a serious problem. The most common symptom to be on the lookout for is general distress. Is your dog standing awkwardly or seem to be in pain for no apparent reason? Does it seem depressed or weak? Is it having problems breathing or experiencing weight loss, vomiting or a decreased appetite? These are all basic symptoms for bloat and should act as a red flag for any pet owner. If the dog is in an advanced stage of gastric dilatation it might even show symptoms of shock; pale mucous membranes, poor pulse strength and increased heart rate. A fairly large percentage of dogs also develop cardiac arrhythmias with bloat, a dangerous heart condition that can cause cardiac arrest and even sudden death.

Resuscitation and emergency surgery are often needed for dogs that develop a bad case of bloat. These complicated and dangerous procedures usually involve intravenous fluid therapy, gastrectomy, and passing trocars (sharp, hollow cylinders used to drain high-pressure areas of the body) directly through the skin into the stomach. It is a painful, long process, and does not guarantee that bloat attacks won’t reoccur. Much like a heart attack in humans, dogs with previous bloat attacks, even ones that underwent invasive surgeries, still often develop gas distension of the stomach. Dogs that were treated without surgery are at a much higher risk of having more attacks.

While the dog’s age and breed factors into whether it will develop bloat, there are a few steps you can take to help prevent the occurrence. Studies suggest that dietary factors play a big role in developing bloat, not so much in what the dog is eating but how much and how fast. Dogs that eat a large volume of food once daily are at the highest risk for developing bloat, as are those that eat foods containing a large amount of added oils or fats. This means dogs that are fed too much too fast are being set up for this painful and potentially fatal medical condition. The simple remedy for this is to feed your dog a number of small meals throughout the day, instead of one giant meal in the morning or evening. Slowing down the speed at which your dog eats using a barrier in the bowl or a bowl made specifically for overeating dogs can also be helpful. Another preventative method is to keep your dog’s food bowl at his or her feet. This minimizes not only occurrence of bloat but also stressful situations that could aggravate a current condition. It also helps to not exercise your dog immediately before or after feeding.

Canine gastric dilatation is a very scary medical condition, one that requires a lot of time, money and energy in treating. Luckily, simple feeding techniques, plenty of exercise, and regular veterinary check-ups can help prevent your pooch from developing this painful, debilitating and possibly deadly ailment.

Accutane Medicine for Acne – Uses, Dosage & Side Effects

Alison White asked:

Accutane Dosage

The usual dose for Accutane is 0.5 to 1 milligram per 2.2 pounds of body weight, divided into 2 doses daily, for 15 to 20 weeks.

For very severe cases, your doctor may also increase the daily dose to as much as 2 milligrams per 2.2 pounds.

Uses of Accutane

*Accutane is used to treat severe nodular acne that has not responded to other treatments such as antibiotics.

*Isotretinoin is used to treat certain other skin conditions and some types of cancer.

Side Effects of Accutane

Stop using Accutane and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

* Blurred vision, sudden and severe headache or pain behind your eyes, sometimes with vomiting

* Hearing problems, hearing loss, or ringing in your ears

* Seizure.

* Depressed mood, trouble concentrating, sleep problems, crying spells, aggression or agitation, changes in behavior, hallucinations, thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself

* Sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body

Continue taking Accutane and talk to your doctor if you have any of these less serious side effects:

* Discomfort with contact lenses;

* Joint pain, back pain;

* Feeling dizzy, drowsy, or nervous;

* Dryness of the lips, mouth, nose, or skin; or

* Cracking or peeling skin, itching, rash, changes in your fingernails or toenails.

Warnings and precautions before taking Accutane

*Accutane is a powerful, “last resort” medication for severe acne;

*You must not take Accutane if you are pregnant or may become pregnant during treatment;

*If you are allergic to isotretinoin, any other medications, parabens (a preservative), or any of the ingredients in isotretinoin capsules, then you should tell your doctor and pharmacist.

*You should also be avoided hair removal by waxing, laser skin treatments, and dermabrasion such as surgical smoothing of the skin while you are taking isotretinoin.

*This drug must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, then you should inform your doctor immediately.

*Do not take vitamin supplements containing vitamin A during treatment with isotretinoin. This could cause increased side effects.

*Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Accutane with certain other drugs, then it may be increased, decreased, or altered the effects of medicine. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Accutane with the others. While taking Accutane, do not take vitamin supplements containing vitamin A. Because accutane and vitamin A are chemically related; taking them together is like taking an overdose of vitamin A. Remember, too, that Accutane should not be combined with tetracycline antibiotics such as including Doryx, Minocin, and Vibramycin.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine.

Symptoms of a Accutane overdose may include:

* Stomach pain

* Warmth or tingling under the skin

* Swelling of the lips

* Loss of balance or coordination.

* Abdominal pain

* Dizziness

* Dry or cracked lips

* Facial flushing

* Incoordination and clumsiness

* Headache

* Vomiting

After taken Accutane if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect.
